Quality Framing
All lumber is #2 yellow pine NOT utility grade or
un-stamped.
Posts are 5 x 5 roughsawn (NOT 4 x 4 or 4 x 6) and set
on 10 centers.
Bottom plates are treated 2x6s all lumber touching the
ground is CCA treated.
Trusses are supported by double 2x6s (or bigger) depending
on the width of building.
Trusses are set on 5 centers NOT 9 or 10.
All lumber on walls and on top of trusses are typically set
on 2 centers NO wide spacing to create flimsy walls.
Lumber on top of trusses laid flat and attached to trusses
with ring-shank galvanized nails NOT standing on edge and toe-nailed
. for
better wind resistance.
All nails used in framing are galvanized and/or ring-shank
for better hold.
